Family Law Mediation

ncreasingly individuals in family cases are turning to alternative dispute resolution options, chiefly mediation. If due to emotional, personality or other problems you and your spouse cannot agree there are resources outside of the courtroom that can help you find a resolution. Mediation and private arbitration are viable options and mediation in particular can help both parties avoid the great expense, delays and procedural headaches that most people encounter in the court system.

Robert Mysicka’s practice is to refer any clients with unresolved issues to an experienced family law mediator who is able to leverage their experience as a lawyer or other professional to discuss the issues openly and frankly with the parties with the aim of creating consensus. There is virtually no downside to mediation – a case that is before the courts, unless it is an emergency involving issues of child protection or safety, will likely take many months or years before it reaches a final resolution and in the interim the parties can benefit from thinking “outside the box” and submitting their dispute to mediation.
